About

About me:

I am presently the Sustainability Coordinator for Western Kentucky University where I work with amazing students, faculty and staff to ensure that WKU is a model for best practices in environmental stewardship.

I am a doctoral student in the WKU Educational Leadership program. My research interests are natural science, ecology, biomimicry, ecosystem services, sustainability education and environmental literacy, environmental justice, food and agriculture, petroleum and other resource extraction, climate change, green building practices, and more…

I have a personal passion for the natural environment – the stunning diversity of organisms that are all essential parts of a a great big global web of life. I am a river rat – but drawn to all water whether oceans, streams, or lakes. I am a vegetarian, mostly because I just can’t eat critters. I run every morning with my best dog, Louie. Most of my time is spent studying, but if I could, I would spend my time in the woods, in the water, reading, traveling (especially in Latin America), learning Spanish, and cooking and eating with the people I love. The only items I desire to collect are art and music, but I can barely afford either.
